The Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) 5 Million Lives Campaign is an initiative to protect patients from five million incidents of medical harm. IHI developed this campaign to expand on its highly successful 100,000 Lives Campaign, through which 3,100 hospitals across the country saved an estimated 122,200 lives in 18 months, using campaign interventions, as well as many other national and local improvement efforts.

All of Adventist Health’s hospital are participating in the 5 Million Lives Campaign, which seeks to dramatically reduce the nearly 15 million incidents of medical harm that occur in the nation each year.
