Adventist Health Central Valley and Sierra Foothill Residency Programs
Welcome to the Adventist Health Central Valley and Sierra Foothill Residency Programs
Our focus is to educate confident and competent family medicine and internal medicine physicians who are capable of providing compassionate, full-spectrum, patient-centered medical care by modeling and teaching a collaborative, evidence-based approach to coordinated care. We value and work with one another to live God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope.
Hanford Family Medicine Residency
We are a community-based program and provide each resident the benefit of clinical experiences and innovative educational opportunities through a multi-disciplinary approach. The Program’s mission is to provide quality training and exceptional opportunities to our residents. In this program, we train competent, well-rounded physicians, that will provide compassionate care to the patients in the Central Valley, as well as to increase the primary care workforce in the community.
Tulare Family Medicine Residency
We aspire to educate and train competent and compassionate family physicians who can provide evidence-based and value-based full-spectrum patient care. Our philosophy of family medicine is one that addresses the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of our patients’ health to promote and maintain overall wellness for our patients and their families. We believe we have been given a special opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact to the populations we serve, especially the vulnerable and underserved communities who need our help.

Sonora Family Medicine Residency
Adventist Health Sonora is thrilled to announce the accreditation of our Rural Training Track Family Medicine Residency Program!
The Graduate Medical Education Program in Sonora operates in partnership with Adventist Health’s existing Family Medicine Residency program in Hanford, California. Our first class of residents will begin their training in 2023 and spend their first year of residency in Hanford. While there, residents will experience a wide variety of clinical settings and complex pathology, with an emphasis on inpatient medicine, including pediatrics and obstetrics.
Pharmacy Residency Program
Our PGY1 pharmacy residency program is tailored to provide various clinical, administrative, and leadership experiences for future pharmacy providers. Residents will work in an interdisciplinary setting, actively engaging in various roles both as a resident and an independent pharmacist. Residents will gain the foundation of a clinical pharmacist in both acute care and ambulatory care settings. Residents will participate in various medication management administrative projects and policy oversight to understand the role of a Pharmacy Department in hospital administration and population health. Leadership experience will develop throughout the year as residents participate in precepting and administration.
The residency program focuses on providing solid foundations to develop advanced pharmaceutical skills in both acute care and ambulatory care settings.
