Heart Health Assessment

Protecting your heart through screening and prevention

Heart failure has long been thought of as a disease among men, but it’s actually the leading cause of death among U.S. women. That’s why in 2008, the Women’s Heart Center was founded. A first-of-its-kind program in Kern County and one of just 50 nationwide upon launching, the Women’s Heart Center’s purpose today remains the same: to educate, screen and prevent heart disease throughout our community.

Heart Health Assessment

To beat heart disease, we have to be aware of the signs, symptoms and risk factors. The Women’s Heart Center has, for years, provided women in our community access to low-cost Heart Health Assessments to identify individual risk factors, including family history of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure or diabetes.

Although our mission remains focused on women, Heart Health Assessments are open to everyone in our community upon the urging of past patients who wanted the men in their lives to benefit from these essential check-ups.

Heart Health Assessments Include:

  • Blood pressure screening
  • Cholesterol screening
  • Cardiac risk assessment
  • One-on-one consultation with a heart health expert
  • A heart disease risk survey and personalized report
  • Follow-up phone calls to answer questions
