- Cell phone, portable charger, extra batteries
- Shovel and tire chains
- Windshield scraper
- Battery-powered radio, extra batteries
- Flashlight with extra batteries
- Water and snacks
- Extra hats, coats, mittens
- Sleeping bags or quilts
