Adventist Health Howard Memorial hospital is pleased to be one of only 45 participating hospitals in California to have achieved the highest recognition with superior performance and be deemed as part of the honor roll produced by Cal Hospital Compare for excellence in opioid care. Cal Hospital Compare releases hospital honor rolls annually to accelerate hospital progress, recognize and celebrate hospital performance and to support patients and families in choosing hospitals that best fit their healthcare needs.

Every day, more thousands of people in the United States die after overdosing on opioids. The misuse of and addiction to opioids— including prescription pain relievers, heroin, synthetic opioids such as fentanyl— is a serious national crisis.

“It's an honor to be recognized for the excellent patient care we strive to deliver to our community every day,” said Linda Givens, Administrator for Adventist Health Howard Memorial. “We’re incredibly proud of our dedicated substance use navigation team, counselors and physicians supporting this work. This achievement and the continued work to provide quality care to Willits and our surrounding neighbors through medicated assisted treatment (MAT) is so important. We’re very fortunate to have an outstanding hospital, clinic and staff that provides local care to our community as an invaluable resource for opioid care.”

The Opioid Care Honor Roll supports the continued efforts of California hospitals addressing the opioid epidemic and accelerates hospital progress to reduce opioid related deaths.
