Quality and Safety

At Adventist Health Simi Valley, patient safety and the quality of care delivered are our top priorities. Hospital-wide and within specific patient care areas, we monitor and implement practices that have been shown to produce the best outcomes for patients. In addition to internally tracking our performance, we submit voluntary and required information to various databases to benchmark our performance with similar hospitals. We utilize Leapfrog, Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS), the Joint Commission, and payors’ standards for care to ensure regulatory compliance, to achieve outstanding outcomes and to maintain operational excellence.

Our current initiatives include decreasing hospital acquired conditions, reducing patient readmissions, addressing healthcare disparities and elevating the patient’s experience while hospitalized. To assist us in these efforts, our hospital leadership and governing body are engaged to support staff and resource allocation. All levels of staffing are also involved to foster continuous improvement and collaboration.

While acknowledging that no hospital nor person is perfect, we strive and continue to uphold our mission “Living God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope” by committing to provide safe and quality care to all.
