Our outpatient respiratory therapy department at Adventist Health Lodi Memorial has been serving the community for more than three decades with a team whose experience and passion is evident. Each patient is treated with professional, compassionate and personalized care, from check-in to the final step of their care journey.

We provide comprehensive programs, combining the latest technology with modern equipment for the testing and treatment of cardiopulmonary and respiratory disorders.

Our services include:

  • Pulmonary function testing: This is a test to assess breathing and lung function. Total lung volume and maximum inhalation and exhalation volumes can be determined through gas exchange within the alveoli and airway resistance.
  • Electroencephalogram (EEG): A non-invasive test to monitor the electric sensitivity of the brain and thereby detect disorders, if any, using electrodes. 10–20 electrodes are placed on the patient’s scalp. This is also helpful to detect neurological disorders.
  • Bronchoscopy: This is an inspection of the lungs to determine condition and structural integrity. Biopsy and sputum samples can be taken to determine if pathology exists. Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) bronchoscopy is utilized to inspect abnormal growths and diagnose different types of lung disorders, including inflammation, infections or cancer.
  • Pulmonary rehabilitation: A multi-week program that educates patients on their lung disease and ways they can improve quality of life and reduce their risk of being hospitalized. They are also supervised and taken through exercises that increase their exercise tolerance and lung function.
  • Cardiac rehabilitation: A program created to help patients with cardiovascular disease maintain heart health and live an active lifestyle.
  • Smoking cessation: A program created to help patients with cardiovascular or pulmonary disease quit smoking to improve their condition.
